How to make bold italic text
- Type your text in the box at the top of the page.
- Pick a look — the modern sans-serif 𝘽𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙄𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙘 or the classic serif 𝑩𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝑰𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒄.
- Add formatting (optional) — toggle underline or strikethrough to stack it on top.
- Copy and paste it into your bio, caption, username, or message. It travels as text, so it keeps its style wherever it lands.
Pick your bold italic style
Both styles are genuinely bold and italic — the difference is the letterform:
- 𝘽𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙄𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙘 — Modern (sans-serif): clean strokes that read well on screens and mobile bios.
- 𝑩𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝑰𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒄 — Classic (serif): calligraphic flourishes for an elegant, editorial feel.
Add underline or strikethrough
Bold italic is often just one layer of the look you want. Use the Add formatting toggles above the results to stack a combining underline (𝘽̲𝙤̲𝙡̲𝙙̲) or strikethrough (𝘽̶𝙤̶𝙡̶𝙙̶) onto every style at once. The marks are part of the copied text, so you get bold + italic + underline or strikethrough in a single string — even in places that have no formatting buttons.
Where bold italic text works
Instagram & TikTok
Paste bold italic into your bio, captions, or comments to make the first line stop the scroll. Both apps display the Unicode the same on iOS and Android.
WhatsApp chat lets you bold with *text* or italic with _text_, but not both — and neither works in your name or About. Paste generated bold italic there and it sticks.
Discord
Discord messages use their own Markdown, so use bold italic Unicode in your username, server nickname, and About Me, where Markdown doesn't apply.
Facebook & X
Drop bold italic into Facebook posts, X bios and posts, or group names to add emphasis the native editors don't offer.
